Below are various ways to illustrate the odds, based on the attacker and defender combat factors.
- The attacker and defender determine their respective combat factors. These depend on their troop types, terrain, etc.
- Each player rolls 1D6 and adds that to their combat factor.
- The player with the higher score wins, often decisively if they double the score of the opponent.
The outcomes are:
- Attacker wins and doubles the defender's score ("Attacker doubles")
- Attacker wins, but does not double ("Attacker wins")
- It is a draw
- Defender wins, but does not double ("Defender wins")
- Defender wins and doubles the attacker's score ("Defender doubles")
