Our most recent gaming session. WWII warships, using the General Quarters ½ rules. GQ2 adds a bit of chrome to GQ1, without adding complexity, so seems a good move. Two games played: Scharnhorst and Gneisenau versus HMS Malaya (British win) and the sinking of the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen by the Royal Navy (another British win).
Been working on a spreadsheet to generate GQ1 SDS, based on the Word file of SDS data in https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/GenQuarters. A lot of effort (I enjoy a challenge) and there are bound to be a few errors…
GQ1. Battle of the River Plate. Spee sunk, Exeter sunk, Ajax very badly damaged. Played well, and quickly. We are probably going to favour GQ1 over Naval Thunder and GQ3.
